James is a serial entrepreneur and company builder with two successful exits in deep-tech and over two years leading Blue Coast Carbon’s development in West Africa. Since founding BCC, he has secured two Verra VCS-registered mangrove projects in Guinea; Lamantin (VCS #5922) and Balbuzard (VCS #5923), establishing the company’s pipeline of high-integrity blue carbon credits. Formally trained in strategy at Deloitte, and holding a BA (Hons) in Human Geography with a focus on globalisation, sustainability, and biodiversity, James brings commercial discipline and deep domain alignment to the challenge of scaling nature-based carbon solutions. He leads BCC’s overall vision, strategy, government partnerships, and capital formation

Guinea Country Director

Michel Camrrubi has worked in Guinea since his first visit in 1989, accumulating 35 years of direct experience in the country's coastal ecosystems, investment environment, and government relationships. As Director General of EBO Guinée (EUROCHAM) — the European Chamber of Commerce in Guinea — he serves as a formal bridge between the Guinean government and the European business community, with cross-sector experience attracting and supporting foreign investment across the country. His deep familiarity with Guinea's Atlantic coastline, including the Loos Islands and the mangrove systems central to Blue Coast Carbon's projects, is first-hand and longstanding. At Blue Coast Carbon, Michel leads our Guinea operations — managing government and community relationships and ensuring our projects are grounded in the realities of the ecosystems and communities we work with.
